We invited our friends and neighbors to grow hops in their backyards. Those friends became hop farmers and their harvest is in this beer.

2024 Version with Fresh Strata hops

Look: Medium orange and opaque in the glass with a plump white head that retains well as a pillow

Aroma: Fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juice and flesh, navel oranges, kumquats, Cannabis, pine, and mandarins

Taste: Whoa. Opens up with a ton of both raw, pithy, and juicy citrus and wet hop cones that hit like I dropped a handful of fresh hops into a glass of fresh squeezed citrus juice. Fruity Cannabis along with a little skunk creeps in in the middle, along with some pine, and mingles with the citrus as the journey winds to a close

Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, medium-high carbonation, and mildly dry on the finish

Overall: This is some tasty stuff. A new fresh hop offering for me and one I’d never seen before but glad I scored some. A lot of fresh hop character throughout and that slick feel I always get in fresh hop beers. The Strata hops are on full display here and in all the right ways. Recommended

2023 version with Mosaic and fresh Strata.

Clear orange with a rapidly receding white head with good retention and lacing. The nose has nice blend of Mosaic and fresh Strata, a blend that calls to mind marmalade, strawberry, pine, and mild oily dankness. No malt character. The palate opens dank and resiny from the Mosaic with the fresh Strata pairing nicely with the citrus and strawberry notes, making this really seem marmalade like, but in a nice way. Mild hop oils, creamy, resiny. Minimal malt character. Drying, hop-laden finish.

2019 edition.

Cardboard yellow, off white sticky foam.

Aroma and flavors match. Bitter orange juice, tons of yeast, a little vanilla and confectioners sugar.

Creamy, but tingly carbonation. Balanced favoring bitter.

A good hazy IPA, but a waste of fresh hop usage. Cheers

2019 can with Co-Hop Centennial and Crosby Amarillo.
Canned 9.23.19 so about as fresh as you can get.

Deep murk to be found here lads. Small swirls of white bubbles. A little fuzz at the cuff.

Especially considering how fresh it is I was hoping for a little more on the nose. Creamy tropics and definite hops, but lacking that real... fresh fresh FH character. More blunted/subdued.

Initial impressions on the flavour are similar... that it's more subdued than I'd sought, but as I work through the glass I find my mind being changed to a more positive impression. As it opens up More of the bitter citrus... I get the amarillo moreso than the centennial. Builds to a big creamy dry hop finish with nice bitter citrus carrying through.

Body is thick and creamy with a fine swell of carbonation and a long bitter finish that rides the edge of burn without committing too far that direction, per my opinion.

Tis the best season of the year.

A fresh hop offering, mainly Centennial this year (‘18), apparently. From a tall boy (9/10/18) into a shaker. Good looking head and lacing. Good perfumey nose, lots of melony, minty round citrus notes...but not all that green or dank. Mouthful: a little bready pilsner malt, some oats and flaked wheat that smooths things out. Good beer! not sure it stands out in a tasty crowd, but i’m not complaining.
