Oat Cream Hazy IPA

As with other NE Style IPA’s, they have little hops on the hot side and are loaded up in the dry hop to create a low bitterness with huge aromas of citrus, melon and tropical fruit and Lactose. Brimley is an Ode to Wilford Brimley, the Quaker Oats ambassador, and his beer-foam covered mustache. Loaded with Citra, Azzaca and Bru-1 create notes of citrus, pineapple and tropical fruit. *Contains Lactose

Poured from 16oz can into my BeerAdvocate teku. Canned 3/15/22. Label says this is brewed with Idaho 7, Citra, Azacca and Bru-1, and contains lactose (and thus, based on its name, is maybe considered a "diabeetus IPA").

Appearance: super murky medium-yellow hue with two thick fingers of frothy eggshell foam atop. Quite pretty.

Smell: citrusy, tropical, juicy, and sweet. Very much an Orange Julius type of situation. I dig it.

Taste: sweet and juicy with a good chunk of tropical fruit character, but also with a bit of a dank backend. I was not expecting to really like this, but I do.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation but only a moderate creaminess.

Overall: yes, there is perhaps more sweetness here than I like. But the aroma and flavors are really good.
