We here at Trap Door are obsessed with fresh hop season. So much so, that we sourced a new experimental frozen version to recreate our GABF Gold winning Fresher than Fresh and bring you all the freshie goodness outside of the harvest season. We used Frozen Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, Mosaic Dynaboost, and Nelson to give big dank berry and tropical fruity flavors, along with that specialness we love from traditional fresh hops. We hope this satisfies your craving for fresh hop beer long enough to make it to the upcoming harvest!

cool idea here, recreate one of the best fresh hop beers ive tasted in recent memory with hops unkilned and preserved from the fall, i think the execution is great, no surprise its not quite to the level of the gabf winner, but its mighty tasty and does retain a decent amount of that pungent freshness, very oil forward and bright. light on the grain side, nice hop layering, southern hemisphere and tropical for being mosaic first, which the original certainly was, also some hop products in here, cryo and dynaboost, definitely adding to that just picked intensity, i get pineapple and orange zest, lemon candy, and a little bit of pine and gin botanical character, even menthol, very fresh, some dankness without it making this heavy, and not green or biting at all despite the high dosage. flavor is great, notes of mango and pineapple for sure, a touch of middle sweetness but not really grainy at all, crackery dry two row type base, simple there, out of the way, subtle peach and sweet orange, a little grassy thing at the end, but this is decidedly new school, high saturation without harshness, moderate bitterness, good carbonation on tap, lighter body for all this flavor, clean in the ferment, nice fruity hop recall, mosaic obvious, nice and cranked up, well made beer, not close to the original, but down that track and punchy enough to stand out, these guys are brewing some great hoppy stuff, glad to have their beers around idaho now!

Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. No date on the can that I can see.
Appearance: light yellow-golden hue with a light haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: somewhat dry malt aroma with a rather earthy hop character, plus a dose of citrus. It's reminiscent of a fresh hop aroma, but not quite the real deal in my opinion. Not bad, though.
Taste: it's not that the malt is super dry, it's just there's kind of a drying effect from the hops here. Hops are earthy and citrusy and just a little bit dank, and bitterness is moderate. Like the aroma, it's not bad, but not quite like a fresh hop.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a pretty solid IPA; I'd be glad to drink a couple of these.

Pours a clear, pale yellow; dense, slow-rising carbonation; thick head, white and frothy with fair density. Great aroma; tropical fruit tones with a hint of freshly mowed grass; papaya. Clean taste; citrus notes; white grapefruit; spicy hop flavor; well-balanced hop bitterness. Medium body; crisp with a slight raspiness on the tongue; delicately dry.
There is no age statement on the can, but I'm thinking this beer has some age to it...regardless, it still tastes fantastic overall.
