an interesting wheat beer here, kind of raw and agricultural to me, harvest timey and different on the malt side, although also less refined than it should be, and a little weird on the fermentation profile, not quite dialed in, but majorly preferable to a generic and sterile wheat beer in this style, so well done at least in terms of the recipe. pale yellow in color, rather hazy even for what it is, and without a ton of head. the nose has some rawness to it, the wheat really obvious, light without any richer crystal malts or anything, and very high wheat in proportion i would think, lightly soapy and citrusy, and less clean in fermentation than it should be, but not unappealing. the flavor is cool, without a lot of hops to it the grain can really be appreciated from start to finish, the terroir is evident, minerals and wet earth to me in this grain, tastes hardly boiled too, like still sprouted and starchy, its simple beer, but distinct in this way. unfortunately, the beer overall really isnt as a very high quality level, the yeast is off, and the beer isnt quite dry or clean, its also really under carbonated too in a style i want to pop. good thing the grain flavor is nice, because it saves this beer, and i think overall the potential for this to be a unique but drinkable simple wheat beer is high, but the execution leaves a little something to be desired...
