33cl bottle, bb in 30m.
Very dark somewhat opaque brown. Head disappears quite quickly.
Nose is that of a well-sweetened espresso, with some nutty flavours mixed in. A faint smoky layer adds pleasant and appetizing complexity.
Taste opens up with a very smooth chocolate note, accompanied by a pleasing roastedness that turns into a satisfyingly bitter and long aftertaste. Body is appropriately stout. Quite sweet but not in an oversaturating way. Alcohol is clearly detectable but not harsh.
Excellent aging potential here, with the residual sweetness, just enough roastedness to round out, the high ABV, and the subtle smokiness to provide complex phenols. Should have bought more to lay down. This is still very young and at its best after at least a year of cellaring.
