Im pouring a cold temp 32 oz growler into a pint glass. The beer was purchased during a recent visit to the brewery in Old Saybrook.
The beer pours a slightly hazy golden color with lots of very fine carbonation bubbles clinging to the glass all the way down the sides. I get a foamy bleached white head to foam up1.5 cm after a fairly aggressive pour and the head recedes to a wispy surface island in short order after the pour. Several streams of bubbles do rise to the surface as the beer sits on my table.
The aroma features some banana and bready yeast. I also get a general light fruitiness and sweet scents. An appealing nose on this beer.
First sip reveals an average body with fine carbonation and a smooth texture.
Flavor is some sweet malt and fruit. Again I get banana and a bit of pear and bready yeast. The alcohol is high on this beer but it is well hidden with only a light warming after each swallow. I dont get any hops anywhere on this beer and find it to be a fairly easy brew to drink. Glad to pick this one up from a brewery that has made a pretty tasty Belgian Ale here.
