pretty limiting to strike out in a small town and commit to only english and irish ales, but so far so good it seems for these guys. they have an awesome space, a oddly round or hexagonal building, small and clean on the inside with a short bar and a tiny little brewery in the back, some sporty television, and flags from countries of inspiration. they had seven or so beers on when we were there, pretty much all classic styles, save a vanilla porter. the esb was hands down the favorite in our group, and i think easy the best beer they are making right now, its fantastic. others were somewhat less compelling, but nothing was way off and it seems like they have their little system pretty well figured out, more or less glorified home brew, but the beer tastes good. the service was awesome, friendly older fellow with lots of praise for the beers and enthusiasm for the place, i loved his energy, and he made our time here a lot of fun. no food or food trucks on a weekend day though, and that shortened our stay. definitely worth poking in for a beer when driving through castle rock, highly recommend the esb! curious to see where these guys go from here...
