Newest iteration of their single hop hazy IPA, this one with Idaho 7 hops. Canned on 5/10/18, poured from the can into a mini tulip.
Pours a very rich, thick sunset orange with just the slightest hint of pink. Absolutely opaque with a thin white head.
Smell is tangerine and cantaloupe. Very sweet.
Taste is underipe melon, valencia oranges, some subtle caramel in the back ground.
Mouthfeel is much much thinner than either of the other two versions (citra and mosaic) that I have tried. Very little of the 'juicy' aspect in the mouth, much more reminiscent of a west coast style pale ale. Not unpleasant at all but also not really in keeping with the (sub?)style.
Overall a very nice beer, tasty and easy to drink. Better than the Mosaic in my opinion but still falls short of the Citra version.
Feel I should update because I noticed a difference with the fresh hop harvest on several of their other offerings. This one is canned 11/28/18
Pours a very light straw yellow. Very bright. Thin white head that dissipates in due time and leaves a nice lacing 4.75
Smell is cantaloupe and guava, not overwhelming but very pleasant. 4/5
Taste remains dominated by valencia orange and slightly underripe musk melon. The caramel I noted in the earlier batch is completely gone. I also get a little bit of lemon peel at the tail end. 4.25/5
Mouthfeel is much improved, much fuller and more pillowy, it's the only one I will adjust up because I feel it has improved tremendously. I'll leave it at the average though because now I say 4/5
Overall this is a solid hazy. Love to try the different hops
