I love many of The Booth’s creative beers, and this one (featuring blackberries and cherries) is definitely in the creative category. However, it appears sometimes creativity leads to an overly sweet concoction that might better be labeled an “alcoholic fruit beverage” than an IPA. I like the cause more than the beer.

Appearance: Excellent lacing and head retention. Head is eggshell white. Beer is hazy with a light strawberry color.
Nose: Creamy and fruity. Some tart cherry and tight berry acidity at the end.
Taste: Tart up front with a creamy finish. Blackberry and cherry flavors in the middle. The tartness is calmed by the lactose. Very well balanced. Finish is a tiny bit dry. There is a hop bitterness in the middle, and it keeps this from tasting more like a fruit beer.
