Beautiful dark smoothe body that is that classic stout not-quite-black colour. Head is billowy and soft and medium dark brown and seems content to remain atop its perch, leaving beautiful lacing down the glass as I drink.
Nose is faint, but has nice roasted notes as well as some char and some dark chocolate and faint coffee. The flavours are all things I really enjoy, I just wish it was a little more bold.
Flavour carries the sweet lactose up front with bitter coffee and char and then a rolling roasty character comes along. Some sweet rich chocolate on the back end.
A bit thin for my preference but decent carbonation. I'm really enjoying this as it reminds me of some of the milk stouts that helped me to get into craft beer years ago and I dig that.
