Chestnut-tinted amber brew with a modest but long-lasting foam in the Zunft Kölsch glass. Medium body with some malty substance. Taking the first sip I was struck that it smells like chocolate. The after a few sips there's a coffee note. Rather grainy with a walnut hint. Interesting Amber ale that is less bitter but more grainy than the average. From the growler filled at the brewery off Clairemont Mesa Dr.
