Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Inky black pour... comes out like motor oil. Thin brownish head. No significant lacing.
S: Rich and roasty... char, booze, cocoa, and vanilla.
T/F: Follows the nose. Burned grains and charred malts. Espresso... dark chocolate. Bourbon and oak... lighter vanilla. Sweet up front followed by harsh bitterness. Thick and syrupy.. warming. ABV present and accounted for. The finish is bittersweet roast.
O: A pretty fantastic barrel aged Russian Imperial. Great flavor... could use an ooch more carbonation. A slow dessert sipper... and one that's best at cellar temp. First beer I've had from Pinellas, but hopefully not the last.
