This is not retired. Just got some from the Portugese Walmart type store. Nice rubi colour with minimal head and no lacing. relatively clear. Smell is not bad, yeast malty and sweet. Taste is average, better than most euro lager styles, slightly sweet with hint of molasses and malts. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly carbonated. Drinkability is fine, alcohol is masked and it goes down easy.

To make it clear, despite its name, this beer has nothing to do with the Bock style.
It pours with a reddish-bronze colour with a very bright clarity. The head is almost non-existent and fades as soon as the beer is served, leaving no lancing at all.
Sweet malts, some caramel notes and a weak papery odour dominates the nose. The taste shows signs of slightly toasted sweet malts, caramels and a touch of herbal hops.
It feels a bit smooth in the mouth with average carbonation, medium to high alcoholic strength (6.8% ABV) and a medium body. Kind of light sweet lingering aftertaste.
Overall Super Bock Abadia Rubi is a simpler and weaker version of Super Bock Abadia, with lighter colour, same alcoholic strength, less body and without the personality of its mother beer. They changed the design of the bottle but the beer is, in short, unappealing.
