In Teira, Portugal. Clear gold pour, decent off white head. Nose is bland malted grain.
Taste is watery malt, touch of spice, light grain. Light mouthfeel, but not as light as I expected. Finish is pedestrian, but not bad.

I am in Portugal and trying some local beers. Poured from a brown 11.2 oz. bottle. Hasa golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some malts. Taste is very light, some malts and grains, thirst quenching. Feels medium/ligt bodied in the mouth and overall is a sub par beer.

Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a lower alcohol beer at 3.3% ABV, and with 30% less calories than their regular beer. A clear light straw-gold body is capped by a thin head of bright white foam. The aroma is malty, bready, and floral. The flavor offers the same maltiness but a little bit more in terms of hops with some additional herbal character. A stiff bitterness balances it enough to keep it mainly dry in the finish, and in the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp. The head retention and lacing are both good. It's well-brewed, and certainly better tasting than a lot of economy beers. I appreciate that it's somewhat lower in alcohol but for me that's not really enough to get me to seriously drink them. I will, however, seek this out if I'm just looking for a walking around beer while on vacation, or something just to drink when my options are limited.

Poured from cute little 200mL bottle into a tumbler. Best by March 2024.
Appearance: bright, clean, pale golden hue with a totally clear body and a thick head of pillowy eggshell foam. I'd call this more of a kristallweizen, from the look of it. By that standard, it's pretty!
Smell: according to the label, this is made with wheat and barley malt, and corn. It certainly smells like it; there's a light corny malt backed up with a kind of slightly sour cidery thing that is not especially pleasant. Not actively horrible, but really not very good.
Taste: the flavor starts off a bit less offensive than the aroma (in that it doesn't initially taste like much of anything), but then slides downhill from there. The aftertaste is kind of a slightly sour corny kind of thing. I've had worse beers, but ... this really is not great.
Mouthfeel: light body with a big carbonatoin and actually a pretty decent creaminess.
Overall: one saving grace of this beer, such as it is, is that it is very lightly flavored. So, the bad parts of it are not as bad as they *could* be.

i couldn’t help myself, in portugal on holidays, new super bock out, didn’t actually realise it was a wheat beer i figured it’d just be light super bock, its, eh, not great, it has no real distinguishable taste other than a faint sweet bready maltyness, drinks like a non alcoholic beer, no particularly astringent flavours at least, but, eh, not good
