Blockbräu has once again contributed a delicious Senatsbock to the Senatsbock tapping this year. Brewed with Herkules hops, this Doppelbock has an alcohol content of 8.0% ABV and pours into the glass with a creamy consistency. Exciting and aromatic aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malt, and coffee delight the nose and tongue.

Copenhagen 12/6 2024. 33 cl bottle from Rewe, Süderquerweg, Hamburg. Dark green label with a drawing in red of a Goat’s head en face and the name of the beer in white letters.
Quite foaming and frothy upon opening. Pours clear dark mahogany with a mid-sized off-white head. Stable. Settles as a thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a dark, sugary and a bit boozy malty odor Whiff of sour grains. Dark roasted malts, caramel and toffee. Brown sugar and sweet liqueur.
Rather strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a strong sweetness followed by a lighter tart bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a tart undertone. Touch of alcohol. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
Dark and potent Doppelbock.
