Poured from a growler into a Seattle Beer Week glass. Pours a very dark walnut brown with little light transmission in the glass and a quarter finger khaki head that dissipates to patches with slight lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa and a touch of coffee and vanilla. Flavor is dark toasted malt with a touch of char, cocoa, drip coffee; a bit of Postum in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Hits all the flavors I want in a schwarzbier, with nice toasted malt, good chocolate and some light coffee and grain notes. Nicely done.
