Every now and then the beer menu at a pub actually gives an accurate description of what the beer really tastes like. It's a rare occurrence, but since the menu at Pillager's describes this maibock to a T, I'll take the occasion to reprint it here verbatim: "The Maibock has a copper golden color with a brilliant white head. The body showcases a clean sweet maltiness that is offset by just enough hops to balance it. Very smooth and easy to drink."
Score one for truth in advertising. To that I would add that Baron's maibock was a little shy on that brilliant white head and didn't at all feel like 6.4% ABV. But the honey-biscuit flavor was charmed. Easy drinking indeed.
