Appearance: pours a dark brown color with a 1/2" head. No lace develops.
Smell: roasted malts is all you can detect here.
Taste: big roasted malt flavor with some softer prune sweetness and a moderate bitterness.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Crisp to start, less so at the finish. Aftertaste is short lived, but roasted tones seem to last longest.
Drinkability: decent porter but one bomber bottle I got was enough for my session.

pours black with a red tint when held to the light, a large beige head, and good lacing.
smell is of yeast, dark fruit, a little coffee, some grain, and a touch of cocoa.
taste is of wheat, some cocoa, a little weak coffee, some caramel, and a little roastiness, ends on the dry side.

Sweeter than I was expecting with abundant malt syrup hinging into roasted grains. Wait for it and there's a delayed dry aftertaste. Bonney came served with a soft, camel-hair head on a lustrous black body that felt full and rounded to the tongue. Thus far, this is the only one of the three Three Skulls ales I've had on draught and it was easily the most well constructed of the lot. Not as well roasted as other regional porters, but a nice one if you're looking for something sweet.
