I had sworn away from beer for 4-5 months, switching to bourbon. I like the hard stuff - it's urbane and it's direct and it's a little better for your waist line, if you only drink once a week or so. My abstinence wasn't total - I would have a brew every now or then with a meal when eating out.
I went to the Pt. Defiance Tap & Grill a couple of weeks ago and ordered a Broken Window along with my pulled pork and grilled cheese sandwich. So good, to the point that I fell off the wagon and am now back in the habit of pulling back 5-6 PAs or IPAs after work on Fridays. Welcome back, beer!
