Another IPA… whats the point you ask? Good point. A light and hazy malt bill featuring Pilsner, Two Row, Oats, White Wheat, Vienna & Caramel malt is generously hopped with Kohatu & Citra for a tropical aroma and juicy flavor. This IPA is sure to be On Point.

Canned on 12/20/17, pours cloudy gold color with orange accents and a 1-2 finger thick white colored head that was packed with tiny bubbles, dissipating very slowly and leaving outstanding foamy lacing coating the sides. It looked like insulation that was sprayed on, leaving rings as it went down with a nice foamy layer on top. Well done.
Smells of orange peel, pineapple, light grapefruit, lemon zest, fresh cut grass, skunky weed, roasted grains, peppery spices, biscuit and floral notes. Not super hoppy, but full of citrus notes and very well balanced.
States "Tropical & Smooth" on the can and that about sums it up: citrus hops lead the way with orange peel, grapefruit pith, lemon zest, clementine, biscuit, tea leaf, dry grass, wheat, light piney hops, garlic, weed, wheat bread crust, dry floral hops and a whole bunch of earthy notes. It's clear that the dry hopping stands out in the flavor profile with the Citra and Kohatu hops bringing a lot of earthy and hoppy elements.
The oats and white wheat add a malty smoothness that helps this slide down and hide the 6.7% ABV while feeling buttery smooth with little to no carbonation. My first beer from this new Long Island brewery has got my attention, so I look forward to trying more from Garvies Point. The was "On Point" for a dry hopped IPA.

Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a well retained one inch head that left a fair amount of lacing. Smells like tropical fruits. Tastes of mango, pineapple, orange and a hint of lemon. Finishes with very little bitterness. Light bodied, well carbonated, slightly dry mouth feel. Easy to drink, not a hop bomb by any standard.

Can with no date the says "tropical and smooth" and indeed it is! The look is a tad browner than other OJ like IPAs bit it had a nice white head. The smell is straight tropical fruits with candied mangoes. The taste and feel is as advertised!! Overall i digged this one over other of their higher rated offerings!
