Next up in our Sour Batch series is a tart, hoppy and refreshing kettle sour hopped exclusively with Galaxy hops, and brewed with lactose milk sugar and Pineapple Puree. The acidity from the lactobacillus, pitched in the kettle, pairs perfectly with the creamy mouth feel of the lactose and acidity of the Pineapple. The Galaxy hops infuse flavors of passion fruit and clean citrus, which give the beer a tropical aroma and flavor. Get ready to pucker up!

16oz canned 9-10-19, opened 12-6-19.
Pale gold/yellow beer with a slight haze (decanted and left about 1/2oz in the can). 1/4" stark white head, decent retention before falling to a solid cap. Early signs of lace.
Pineapple and a lactic acid twang are the nose, I'm a little late on opening this so may have missed the Galaxy hops expected. The nose is appealing none the less.
Tangy pineapple, almost kombucha-like in it's sour pucker.
Bright and slightly creamy body with high acid and medium carbonation. Medium-length clean and sour finish.
Good to very good. Interesting beer even at 3 months, even without the most likely intended affects of the lactose and Galaxy dry-hopping. Would try again.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 9/10/2019. Pours opaquely hazy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy pineapple, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, red grapefruit, peach, pear, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, peppercorn, pine, herbal, floral, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of pineapple, citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, lactose, and pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy pineapple, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, red grapefruit, peach, pear, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, peppercorn, pine, herbal, floral, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, Brett spiciness; and pine, herbal, floral, grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy pineapple, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, red grapefruit, peach, pear, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, peppercorn, pine, herbal, floral, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of pineapple, citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, lactose, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/tart/tangy/spiciness and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy, and acidic/tangy/tannic/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a fantastic fruit/hopped milkshake sour. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of pineapple, citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, lactose, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/spicy/tart/tangy/drying finish. Nicely soft and mellowly lactic for the style. Fantastic balance of juicy pineapples, Brett/Lacto complexity, and vibrant/dank/earthy Galaxy hops; with a great lactose and pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding spot on style example. Loved the hop profile as expected. Not overwhelming on any aspect.
