Very interesting beer. I didn't say it was good, but it is interesting none the less. The appearance started out nice, with a good head, but then it got flat really fast. In fact, there is no head at all, not even a laceing in it now, which is 10 minutes after the pour. With the smell, you'd think there is a bit more alcohol than 4.7%. It had a wierd slightly skunk, mixed with fruits, hops, and alcohol. The taste was very similar, but neither one really stood out. Overall an ok beer. Nothing to really get excited about though.

A present from a Russian colleague at work. Whenever we travel on business I always introduce my Structural Engineering friend to good beer if I can. In turn he rewarded me today with two Russian beers not typically found in the land of the free. This is the second of these beers.
Presentation: An 11.2 fl.oz brown glass tall thin bottle that has an oval design on the main label. A dark green background with gold vertical stripes has the word OCHAKOFF in red across the front, with the word Classic in Gold beneath and the picture of a bearded Russian dude above holing a Pint. Other writing states that this is brewed with natural ingredients only, no additives! and lists the strength at 4.7% Vol. The neck is covered with a black and gold foil with lots of Russian words and the same picture of the Bearded Russian Dude, but this time his beard is gray. The Crown Cap says ОЧАКОВО ПИВО.
Appearance: A nice looking golden body that is perfectly clear with some fine bubble streamers. The head is a large bubbles affair that sits atop and has some decent staying power with a consistent thickness of about ¼. Decent carbonation levels.
Nose: Whereas the previous offering from this Brewery put me off, this one is very inviting indeed. A nice clean nose, some Saaz like hops, bit much, but enough to lend a balance to the pilsner malts that are also there.
Taste: Extremely clean and a refreshing crisp feel that surprised. The use of natural ingredients only obviously helps this Lager from Ochakovo. A nice delicate blend of Pilsner Malts and a clean Saaz Hop tingle (rather than bite) give this Pale Lager beer some very clean lines and a crisp, fresh taste.
Mouthfeel: Average, but just right for a beer of this strength.
Drinkability: Clean, crisp and very refreshing with a dutiful functional mix of Pilsner-like Malts and Saaz Hops. Easily taken down with some nice pilsner-like burp tastes.
Overall: After the disappointing Stolichnoye from the same Brewery (which I am led to believe is made with rice oh, how the mighty Bear has fallen to the Western influences!), this offering is yards better and actually drinkable.
