Purchased January 2017 and opened June 2018.
Great light golden color, earthy notes with dry rounded edges and a hint of the wine notes. Aged wonderfully and excited to sit on the other bottle I have for a few more years.

Fortinos purchase for $6.60 CDN. Cool-looking but small bottle of 330 ml. This appears to be an newer vintage as the ABV is 8.4%. Review from notes.

Appearance - Mildly hazy, dark salmon colored beer with no head or lacing at all.

Smell - Funky balsamic aromas with some wood and maybe some grapes.

Taste - Kind of like the nose with more wood and less balsamic, not terribly well balanced. Some wheaty aspect in there too. Subtle candied fruit on the close after getting a few sips in, is very interesting.

Mouthfeel - Very flat, medium thin body and kind of dry. Boozy heat to close the feel starts showing up mid sip.

Overall - A little strange for a bier de garde, but this doesn't really fit anywhere else. It's kind of hybrid of that style and a strong flanders red ale. Worth a thought, although I can see this as a love it or leave it type of beer. I somewhat enjoyed the experience, but the balance isn't there, wouldn't purchase another, especially given the cost. It does improve considerably as it warms.
