330 ml fancy bottle served cold into a Spencer trappist chalice. LCBO purchase for $5.95 CDN. Listed as a fruited Belgian style ale that was aged in chardonnay barrels and added to with sour cherries.
Appearance - Ruby pink in color, some haze, very small head poured and fizzles out quick.
Smell - Grapes, wood, sour cherries, earthy must aroma too. Complex and not necessarily cohesive but the aromas still are quite good. Brett seems to make an appearance in there as well.
Taste - More bitterness than I'd expect (although 33IBU's may do that). The cherries and grapes try to compete with each other and instead end up cancelling each other out, as the middling bitterness and earthy must linger on. Booze is somewhat well hidden, but at the same time it's evident that this is north of 7% ABV. Sour cherry really starts to pop as this warms up so please be sure to do so.
Mouthfeel - Super dry finish, carbonation is middling, body is pretty light but the dryness kinda sucks everything up.
Overall - Some elements here are great, there's almost too much going on and it doesn't end up as cohesive as it otherwise could be. And as for the style - It's not a Blonde Ale - American, will suggest a change to something more fitting

Wow. Was looking for something interesting for my 1500th beer and this was a great find.
Hazy, rosy looking, moderate lace. Beautiful colour, quite attractive. Big fruity nose, oakiness, vanilla - quite fascinating actually. Even better taste profile. Cherries (I love cherries), some tartness, oak, vanilla, just a delightful thing to bring to your lips. Lots of interesting flavours happening and gets better as you explore. Comfortable mouthfeel, just enough tartness/carbonation. A complete delight. Looking forward to trying other beers from this brewery and visiting their site.
Note that they employ odd nomenclature and I hope I've got the name correct here. Visit their website to get it squared away in your head.
