Nice persistant beige foam with very good lacing. Aromas of burnt cocoa beans, coffee, dark caramel. We don't really smell the Pu Erh tea despite it being the guest star. I smell some seaweed which may be caused by the leathery side of this tea. The taste is a little bit sweet in the beginning, but the sweetness quickly gives way to a roasty/burnt taste, and a finnises with an astringency and a kind of bitterness associated with a well infused tea. Lacks a bit of complexity, but the roundness of this beer makes it one of the good porters I've had.

I'll preface this review by stating that the beer I am about to review is called "Porter au Pu Erh" by Brasserie Cooperative La Chasse-Pinte, and is 6.5% ABV. So, the spelling is slightly different, and the ABV is a bit off than that indicated in this listing. Also, the label art for my bottle is different than the label shown here (mine has a nice watercolor of tea leaves with a faded pink background), but they both indicate that the beer is a collaboration with Maison de The La Theiere. My guess is that this is a later bottling than the one indicated here, even though the listing states bottled once. I'm guessing this because there is a sticker on the bottom of the bottle with a date of 8/29, although that could be a best buy date as well. If any of my assumptions are incorrect, please let me know so I can correct this. Okay, enough of my rambling, on to the review-
Look- dark brown, 3 finger foamy head, ample lacing
Smell- dark chocolate and bitter dark roast coffee
Taste- follows the nose, with slight tartness under that chocolate and coffee. Finishes with lingering bitterness
Feel- light-bodied and highly carbonated, almost to soda levels. Very prickly with the carbonation but it goes down quickly
Overall- This was a pretty good porter with nice aroma, decent taste, but too much carbonation in my opinion.

Opaque black as the night, brown foam with a lot of retention, leaving a ring much later, light to almost no lacing.
Typical porter nose, light chocolate, roasted malt, almost coconut alike with some herbal notes.
Chocolate and roasted taste, light to medium bitterness coming afterward we can taste a bit of the astringency of the Pu Erh tea. I thought it would be more earthy like Pu Erh can be but no it is well balanced and enjoyable.
Dry, light carbonization. Well done, refreshing porter with tea added.
