my first beer from these guys, and its quite a good one. a cream stout, not enough of these out there, and it is well made, easy drinking, has plenty of body, and while maybe lacking a unique or defining element, the quality is high and the beer is really nice overall. fairly dark brown in color, nearly a full inch of airy tan head resting on top with pretty nice retention. aroma and flavor of cocoa powder, medium roast coffee and barley malt, and just a thin vein of pleasant sweetness running through here, simple but well balanced and not over the top on the dark end of things. fuller bodied but quite dry as it finishes, lighter in alcohol than it is in flavor, and rather easy drinking as they go, a few pints of this one would be more than appropriate. i like the seemingly reserved nature of this, its not as bitter on the dark barley side as a lot of these get, and i like the yeast, which dries this out nicely and has a sort of english bready quality to it, but its only really tasted for a moment. nice brew overall, i will have to look for more from these guys next time i am in nebraska!
