Received from @Roguer in the Barleywine/Stout BIF #1; first experience with Front Porch
Poured into a Big Head's Belgian-style tulip
P deep mahogany w/ a tiny tan head
N soft aroma of apple and spice notes; was hoping for a bolder nose on this one, but not bad nonetheless
T apple crumb donut flavor (just as advertised) w/ cinnamon/spices, over lightly roasted malt and cocoa; quite delicious
Mf a velvety smooth med to med-full body w/ soft-med carb; satisfying
O the flavor and the body on this one make up for the elements that lack a bit; overall, one nicely done pastry stout

Pours a dark brown color with a minimal head that lasts quite a while. Aroma is sweet apple, vanilla and a bit of cinnamon. Taste is cinnamon, spices and apple fritters. Thick and creamy

This beer is pretty much exactly what it says it is: it's a cinnamon apple doughnut imperial stout.
Medium-full bodied; it's not a thick, chewy pastry stout, but it has adequate heft while maintaining a little bite.
Not overly sweet, although it's definitely on the sweeter side, leaning more dessert than breakfast stout. Tasting notes are - well, apple, cinnamon, sugar, and dough, along with lighter notes of caramel, chocolate, and coffee that are mostly just along for the ride.
In terms of concept, this beer is very well executed. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea (or, err, beer), as there are undoubtedly plenty of beer drinkers out there who aren't going to want to drink a doughnut in a glass, but those people probably aren't buying this beer in the first place.
