Poured to a tulip glass.
A: The body is pitch black. The head is beige and shows little retention. No lacing.
S: The aroma is very strong of Nescafé, being what I hate the most on coffee infused stouts. The flavour of a coffee should be dense, aromatic and dark and not green and overly roasted.
T: The taste is exactly like a nescafé infused drink, with carbonation and alcohol. There's really not much to add up to it. Which is very sad for a stout, that should have a much richer flavour profile, not to mention a coffee infused stout, that should wonderfully rich.
M: The body is medium to low. Carbonation is medium. Roasted and burnt profiles are too prominent on the aftertaste, it should be instead a lot more sweeter.
O: Along the last months I've found a lot of coffee infused beers to have this nescafé taste. It's awful. Breweries should really understand a bit more about coffee on this matter. Previous to this beer, I've also had Common Grounds from Magic Rock. Same mistake. A couple weeks ago, I've had one Stone Stout that had the same problem. People, there's good coffee out there, can't we use it on beer? Thanks.
