Dark garnet with fast-fading head; cola, rum barrel + Fig Newton nose; toffee, vinous tartness, carob, thread of vanilla, raisins, mild smoke, earth, steak juice and black cherries; light, sticky, a bit flat.

BBE 30.Apr.2020. Big, mellow nose that shows the age - sitting on this for a bit over 2 years. Has that light, grapey tartness that is characteristic that non-Polish breweries just never seem to get. Not sure why they added vanilla instead of trusting the barrel; a very gentle bourbon thing comes out as it warms. It’s undercarbed, and not the deepest example of the style I’ve had - see also Ciechan 22 - but gets the drinkability. Nice work.
