Brewery Techne "Haiku"
on tap at Bar Hygge on 10 Sept 2016
$4/10 oz. glass
Beer menu lists: "brett yeast, Montmorency sour cherries".
Very hazy orange colored body with golden highlights beneath a creamy head of white. Very good head retention and excellent lacing. The aroma deliverys fruity Brett with notes of leather, damp straw, and metal. In the mouth it's medium bodied with a median carbonation that's livened by its Brettanomyces acidity. Fruit (apricot, cherry, nectarine) and Brett return in the flavor backed by a firm bitterness that leads to very dry finish in combination with the acidity. It's tart but not sour, and perhaps even on the mild side of tart. Also, cleanly "Brett". Superb!
