well, got out over my skis on this one, grabbing it before many of the BA folks weighed in. Kind of bit me this time, so, oh well. This outfit is local to Philly so I was hoping for the best but came up short this time.
L: Drinking from the can, and it's pretty groovy for a new outfit. well done!
S: grassy, muted
T: this where it's losing me. grassy, some sour citrus. some off-vinegary taste i associate with apple cider that has begun to ferment. not so pleasant for me at least.
F: ok i guess
O: well, took a shot & didn't make it for me.

A pint can has been emptied into a clear glass Imperial pint mug. The color of the brew is a dull bronze-amber, with an appropriate sized white head. The carbonation is strong and the head is enduring. The smell is hop centric, with earthy tones added by the malt. This is a well bodied offering, more sweet than earthy, with a sharp hop finish to mitigate that. By the time the finish subsides, the hops dominate and the sweetness is long gone. It is a taste treat to undergo the transformation from something that is reminiscent of butterscotch to something that has a bitingly bitter finale. The head remains at the conclusion of the pint, but there was almost no glass lacing, surprising, considering the nice body and mouthfeel this has. This is labeled as a four grain IPA and barley malt and oats have to be included. They probably prevent the hoppy finish from being dry. A little taste of the alcohol probably accents both the initial sweetness and the bitter finish. This is an interesting and somewhat unique drinking sensation. A relative newcomer, hopes are many others will get to try this one. It's worth looking for.
