Dunkulele is brewed with dark caramel and roasted versions of barley and wheat. Dunkulele is a dark wheat ale that contains a nice silky mouthfeel without hiding any of the yeast esters that make this beer unlike anything else in our line-up. A slight clove and banana character come into the aroma and flavor of this beer by way of its German rooted fermentation. A perfect beer for a crisp, cool Autumnal evening.

Pours a nutty, murky brown. A khaki head forms short and quick, and disappears just as quick. Fizzy, and otherwise unimpressive head. Not much peeking through in the aroma. What does show through is toasted malts, dark caramel and a hint of bread. Flavor profile has a bit more going for it, with notes of dark caramel and toasted malts right up front. Slight clove and banana taste afterwards. The flavor is sweet, but not cavity inducing sweet. Mouth feel is fizzy, and otherwise thin. Overall, it's a tasty beer, but not too inspiring.
Served in a 12oz snifter.

RJ ROCKERS DUNULELE DARK WHEAT ALE 10/1/16
Another from the latest beer club shipment. We don't get this brewery's products in my state.
Poured from the 12 oz. bottle into an English nonick pint.
a; Very dark brown with hints of clear brown and ruby at the sides and bottom of the glass when held to light, Half finger thick offwhite head receded to traces of surface foam and no lacing, odd for a wheat beer.
s; Mild roasty malt
t; Mild black coffee and dark chocolate along with a moderate hop bite. Slightly bitter finish.
m; Light to medium, ok body and carbonation tingle.
o; Not a bad porter-style brew, good for dinner because it's not heavy or too strongly flavored. Easy drinking as such.

L: Pours bright dark brown into a snifter with a half inch foam cap that dissipates fairly quickly.
S: Some dark dried fruit, dark malts and sugar, bread to bread crust, grains and wheat.
T: Big dark dried fruit, some dark caramel, mild roast, a trace of tartness, dark stone fruit, a hint of prune all united in an interesting and pleasant balance. Nothing harsh or burnt.
F: Creamy smooth medium to medium full body, medium to medium low carbonation.
O: While the beer does not reach out and grab you by the coat collar, it is a pleasant easy to drink wheat ale.

The beer pours out into a Duvel class a dark brown with a light tan head that disappears quickly leaving a ring and small, thin island of foam. Sipping leaves a few small patches and speckles of lacing that cling to the sides of the glass. Only a small ring survives to the end of the beer.
The aromas include some chocolate and dark caramel with a touch of clove.
The flavors are much as the nose with some chocolate and caramel, and a light touch of clove. There's also a hint of banana way in the background.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied and quite smooth as the carbonation is very faint. The finish begins about midway through as the chocolate and caramel begin to fade followed by the clove. It all ends in a touch of bitter dryness in the back of the palate. However that bitterness seems more like dark roasted malt than hops.
This is a pleasant enough beer to drink and I particularly like the restrained clove and banana rather than having it out front and domininant. That said I'll probably not be seeking out another of these as there are other beers and styles brewed locally that I enjoy more.

Dark beer with a lighter taste. Smells great, and is a great drinking beer. Not heavy though.

Pours dark. Very malty with very light head and almost non-existent lacing. Sweet with a touch of hops. Flavors of brown sugar, sweet malts. Overall, decent, but tastes real young and has little to no complexity or maturity
