Look: The can says this is a red IPA. It's definitely brown. Extremely hazy. It looks like dirty water to be honest.
Smell: Unpleasant. Moderately hoppy with moderate caramel. There's a distinct Unpleasantness coming from the hops I think. It reminds me of dirty dish water.
Taste: That unpleasant taste is front and center. Good god is it bad...if I look past the assault on my taste buds I can pick out spicey or maybe even some citrusy hops at the beginning and a more pine like note on the finish. Moderate caramel that feels out of place, like just slapping a caramel note onto an IPA.
Feel: No complaints here. For some reason I expected it to be very syrupy but was at least pleasantly surprised to find that it wasnt. Or only slightly.
Overall: I wanted to like this. I really did. But there's just this nasty note that's overpowering. Maybe I got a bad batch? I can't imagine tasting this and thinking it's ready for market. It isnt easy to drink at all.

12 oz can from the Wall of Beer (Clemson, SC; $1.79) with a Sept. 2018 canning date stamp on the bottom.
Pours slightly hazy, dark copper with a beige head of moderate size and life that leaves ample lacing.
Aroma: hops and bready grains, with hops dominating.
Flavor: hop forward with some citrus, bread and grassy notes. Near moderately bitter for style (Red IPA; but below average bitterness for a typical American IPA).
Feel: medium-full body with medium carbonation; semi-smooth.
