With a name like this, you gotta try it. It was a nice deep reddish color. There was a small head. The smell was fair. The taste was good for the style. This beer is one of the better red ales I have had. I will certainly try this one again sometime. One of this brewers best efforts.

Pours a medium brown color with a finger high cap. Has smell of grain and a little yeast. Has a fresh smell and lightly sweet, but not very strong. Taste is a little spicey and grainy with a little pepper. Hops flavor kicks in to mellow out a mild sweetness. Goes down as a sipping beer, and good warmth for only being ~5.5% beer.

Served on tap at Terry's in Spartanburg.

Great appearance. Nice head forms and stays around, leaving nice lacing all the way down the glass. Almost stout like in lacing. Very nice.

With most of the RJ Rocker offerings, the nose isnt very potent and in some cases not detectable. This is another case of that. Nothing in the way of fruits or hops or malts. Just an average nose.

Great hop and malt balance. Tasted pepper and caramel. Also a tiny bit of yeast as well. Overall very pleasant.

Kind of sticky mouthfeel. Would like a little more crispness even though it is an amber. Just too sweet of a mouthfeel. Overall a very pleasant beer.
