Coffee porter brewed with locally roasted coffee beans. Had at the brewery at one of their taste and tour sessions. Served from tap into an RJ Rockers shaker. Poured pitch black with a one and half finger light tan head that subsided to a minimal amount very slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of roasted malt and massive coffee. The flavor was comprised of roasted malt, coffee, and a slight hop note. It had a medium feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall if you like coffee you will enjoy this one. It had a nice crisp and refreshing flavor and a good aroma. I just wish they would have cut back on the coffee some in this one as it was pretty overwhelming to begin with until your palate adjusted. However with a few tweeks this one could be really good.

On-tap at Barley's in Asheville served in a standard pint glass a deep almost opaque black with a nice frothy light tan head that lasts and leaves nice lacing on the glass. The aroma is dark malts in front of fresh ground coffee and baker's cocoa. The taste is a nice amount of smooth cocoa alongside fresh roast coffee and dark malts, quite flavorful! The beer is light bodied but with a nice full mouthfeel, very nice. This is a very tasty porter, I really hope we see their beers in the Triangle again soon.
