Brewed by Case (casemw) of RJ Rockers specifically for a local BA meetup that I setup! Big thanks for that Case and Mark! Served from tap into an RJ Rockers shaker. Poured a massively dark brown (almost black) with a half finger cream colored head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, roasted malt, subtle dark fruit, nutty, and a hint of alcohol. The flavor was of sweet malt, roasted malt, subtle coffee, caramel, and subtle dark fruit. It had a medium feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. In talking with Case about it, he said that they lost some of the yield on the yeast on this test batch, so the ABV was not as high as he was hoping it would be. Also due to this fact the flavors and aromas on this one were not really as robust as you get in most RISs. Definitely a good start however for his first time brewing one of these that I know of. Really glad that the crew there took the time to brew this one on a very small scale and keg it for our enjoyment! Thanks again guys! Tick.
