Was lucky enough to try this one during one of RJ Rockers Taste & Tour sessions at the brewery. Big thanks to Case (casemw) for sharing this one with some of us in attendence that night! Served from unlabelled bottle into an RJ Rockers shaker. Poured red orange with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount very slowly. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, caramel, dark fruit, brown sugar, and very very subtle bitter hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, caramel, brown sugar, and dark fruit. It had a medium feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was an excellent brew. I have to admit that this brew hasn't been made since RJ Rockers was a brewpub which was WAY back in the day... This batch was from that time and had been sitting in a keg since then in the cooler. With that, the hops had completely faded on the flavor, but the malt backbone that was present here was rediculously good... I wish RJ Rockers would revisit this beer even if it is just a seasonal offering. I can only imagine how good this could be with a nice hop character to it as well. Really glad I got the opportunity to give this one a shot! Tick.
