Had this on tap at the brewery. The look was dark black with a thin tan head. The smell was coffee and roasted malts. The taste was chocolate and coffee. Maybe a little bit too carbonated for my taste but overall it was a good RIS.

Pours black with no discernible head, but nice legs when swirled. Blackstrap molasses, a wisp of iodine, baker's dark chocolate, and olive. Moderate barrel oak on the palate and some boozy heat that is a welcome addition when sipping at a warmer temp.

O - A very enjoyable RIS. Quite balanced and easy to drink. I enjoyed it.

Had on tap. I love how balanced the aromas are. Dark chocolate powder, malt, slight hop bitter, brown sugar, booze, and oak all there. Thick and jet black with little head. Just an all around very good RIS though a little thin

Heavy stout. Very good. Definitely better at warmer temperature. Really smoothed it out.

Taste: Big bold dark chocolate malts, roasted notes, dark fruit, some boozy by smooth mouth feel. Toasted complex malt nose. Black, opaque, dark tan head, refined, nice lace. Full but not heavy body. Chopped full of taste, for good after dinner ale. Finish is cleaner than most Imperial Stouts. 60 IBUs

This is a dangerously great beer. Great color, the head is a grayish brown I've never seen before. Super smooth, velvety roasty malt with chocolate notes. The ABV is disguised amazingly well-this may be the easiest drinking 12%ABV I have ever come across. If you ever find yourself in Romeoville or nearby, TRY THIS BEER!
