22 ounce bottle into a tulip snifter. Bottled 8/2017, had 11/21/17. Also had on tap, on release date.
Pours a darker amber, somewhat opaque, with a quarter inch head and scattered, soapy lacing. Aromas of malt, oak, dates, toffee, bourbon, some figs and caramel, light vanilla. Overall, a fairly sweet aroma, but did pick up a little butter, too. The taste is malt, bourbon- more as it warms, caramel, oak, dates, light cherries and vanilla, maybe a little butter. A fair amount of hop bitterness, especially on the finish. Mostly smooth, a decent medium body, appropriately carbonated.
This was nowhere near as good as on tap on the release date. I wouldn’t say it went bad, but it definitely did not do well in the bottle. The bourbon is good, the flavors are a bit muddled. Have one more bottle, will amend this review if it’s better.

I like how the barrel came together with the base red ale on the taste. Toffee, cereal, booze, barrel, and typical hops for a red ale all together. The smell is a bit messier, and the feel is too thin in my opinion. See lots of potential here though

Taste: woody oak, warming bourbon notes, malty, smooth, only a hint of hops. Dark fruit, smokey, bourbon oak nose.
Dark copper/ red hue, semi opaque, some foam and lace. Medium body. Had a kick in the finish, this time bottle was better then on tap. 25 IBUs
