22 ounce bottle into a snifter. 2017 bottle. Had 8/3/18.
Pours dark and opaque, with a quarter inch head of darker foam and some darker foamy lacing. At the open, it had a little bit of that buttery, rancid smell that shouts “infected“. As the bottle sat open and warmed, it dissipated. Aromas of coffee, roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, some bourbon, some molasses, light smoke. The taste is coffee, roasted malt, some chocolate and caramel, light bourbon- a little more as it warms, some oak. Smooth, well carbonated, a very good full body.
Pretty good after it sat a while, and if I posted reviews on a timely basis, it would help to say don’t wait on your bottle too long. Lots of good coffee, bourbon is light overall.

Taste: rich, smooth, coffee, toffee, big malt with woody, boozy bourbon notes with some kick to finish. toasted coffee, malt nose. Black, opaque, no head but nice viscous film sticking to glass. Full body. This version coffee is kinda gentle, hops are in the background. 60 IBUs

Pitch black, virtually no head. Smells of lighter roast coffee, caramel and roasted malts, bourbon, dark chocolate, and smoky molasses. Taste is not as hot in the booze as smell indicated, with the sweet notes fading quickly leading the coffee, smoke, and booze to carry the day. Feel is helped by the coffee textures in order to break up the booze and malt uniformity, but could be thicker
