22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Had 11/9/18.
Pours a deep brown, opaque, with a half inch quickly dissipating head and some foamy lacing. Aromas of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, molasses, some bourbon- more as it warms, some tobacco and oak, light smoke. The flavor pretty much mirrors the aroma- roasted malt, chocolate, molasses, some bourbon- much more as it warms, oak, caramel, some tobacco. Develops a good amount of bitterness. Smooth, a good fuller body, appropriately carbonated.
Terrific barrels, great aroma and flavor. This really opens up when fully warmed. Very enjoyable, would buy again.

Before this beer warmed up it was more enjoyable. So drink cold! Once allowed to warm up this black beauty started to show a nasty boozy side. The lactose of the milk stout is completely destroyed in the wake of the booze. Malts seem misguided with the barrel. Some sips it seems boozy but nice. Others it is a complete, unbalanced, mess.
