16oz can poured into a goblet shows a black body with a cola-brown tinge at the edges, weak 1/8in cap of brown tight bubbles doesn't last and leaves the glass clean.
Aroma of cinnamon is joined by a sugary, roasty aroma.
Flavors don't quite come together even when they are recognized. Slight cinnamon hints meet with the roastiness, that doesn't quite make it to cocoa beans, and become less of both. Raisins come off more as an isolated sweetness that's just barely brighter than the sugar. But the effects of all of this when it meets with the thin mouthfeel just tastes like candied water. At least it gets better with warmth.
Overall, a disappointing result from a brewery that is better than this.

Taste: spiced, semi sweet, molasses, cinnamon, nutty, dark malts. Same with the toasted nose. Black, mostly opaque, with tan head and delicate lace on taster glass. Full body. Made with "monkey bread" in mind. 68 IBUs

Had on tap. Collab with iron and glass. Loved the idea, execution was lacking. Taste was to feature cinnamon, molasses and walnut, yet the cinnamon dissipates rapidly, molasses, though expected to be a big note is mostly lost, but the walnuts do come through. Body has some textures from baking spices, but is also watery. Smell is best aspect, where the cinnamon is most felt, and has a sense of doughiness.
