Drinking out of a small snifter.
Pours a thickly hazy light orange with a fair head.
Smells of tangy fruit - maybe grapefruit.
Good mouth feel.
Tastes of tangy tropical fruits.

On tap at The lower bar in Stowe.
Presents hazy gold with an inch-plus head of white. Plenty of tattered lacing and persistent retention. Juicy citrus in the nose with some zest also. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Peach ,orange, grapefruit on the palate with minimal malt or bitterness. Finishes fairly dry but Juicy.

Poured from a 16 oz can purchased at the brewery in White River Jct. Pours deep yellow with two fingers of head that slowly recedes. Tastes of subtle citrus up front - mostly orange to my palate - with a subtle rye aftertastes. Very good. Me like.

Growler share.
This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a muddy burnt yellow to orange color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a nice pace. Light stringy lace roamed around the glass.
The aroma had some grapefruit pith, guava, rye and black pepper. Light grassy sweetness with a touch of floral hop quality played underneath.
The flavor leaned sweet initially and then brightly exposed the black pepper and rye coming together somewhat spicy then providing a nice transition to the aftertaste in the same manner.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied, seemingly coming up under just a touch, but I didn't mind that. Rye spiciness isn't distracting in it's harshness and ended up being pretty sessionable.
Overall, a very nicely done rye IPA, if that's what River Roost wanted as I realize that maybe that was just what I thought this beer was.

From a 32oz growler less than a week old.
Pours a crazy hazy straw yellow color, very bright yet hazy throughout, minimal head with some minor lacing on the glass.
Smell has a fruity grapefruit aroma mixed with plenty of bready-yeast.
Taste has a balanced flavor between grapefruit hop bitterness and a spicy rye flavor with a decent pale malt backing, carbonation is medium with a surprisingly creamy body.
