Growler share. Treated as an imperial style of a brown ale, I opted for my tulip. My take: the appearance was a dark amber close to brown color with a finger and a half’s worth of eggshell white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Messy sliding lace. The aroma had some brown sugar, caramel, dark fruits, light vanilla/slight marshmallow, a little bit of chocolate and a little bit of roast. The flavor yielded to the sweet side at first and then opened up into a nice smooth dark bready content that blended fairly well. Not much of an aftertaste but had a nice crisp sweet bready finish. The feel was just a tad under medium in body with a fair sipping sort of quality playing with a fairly low carbonation. That didn’t bother me since there seemed to be some grip from the noted roast in the aroma. Overall, really nice imperial brown ale well worth my time, however, I did miss the maple portion that I heard was supposed to be in this.
