Drinking out of a large snifter.
Pours a very hazy orange with a full frothy head.
Smells some of tropical fruit, but mutes.
Good mouth feel, thick like a milkshake.
Somewhat tangy taste, but again, somewhat muted.
Hints of pineapple.
No bitterness.

Fresh from VT pint can poured into a nonic pint glass.
Frosted orange color, dense and thick look. Pure white 1F cap, lots of lacing rings.
The aromas are related to the hops; peach, guava, sweet blue and strawberry blend. Dry sawdust notes and a touch of citrus aroma, too.
Stone fruits led by peaches along with the berries drive the flavor. Dry and dank sawdust malt.
It’s nearly full bodied with a whipped cream feel. It goes down smooth and the abv catches up quickly.
Another unique VT ipa that is very good. The touch of citrus aroma was unexpected but I’ll stick with it.

16oz can, undated but known to be fresh, poured into a 16oz tumbler glass. Enjoyed on 08.24.2023, reviewed from Tasting Journal.
The beer pours a very hazy and turbid orange color, bright amber hues with a fizzy white head that has good retention and excellent lacing. The aroma is great, very dank, lots of pine, grass clippings, herbal tea, wildflower with bright juicy citrus, tropical fruits, and some sweet yeast. The flavors are good, lots of pale grain, doughy, mineral water, juicy citrus and peach while the backend is super green and earthy, nice bitterness, piney, grassy, lingering dank herbal qualities. The mouthfeel is good, coating, thick medium body, super hefty and chewy at the finish, which is moderately dry.
Verdict: A nice IPA from River Roost. Very earthy and dry, great juicy qualities, nicely balanced, very expressive and enjoyable beer.

16 ounce can with no discernible date, but we rec'd a couple cases eleven days ago.
Moderate to vigorous pour yields a one inch white head over a hazy, golden body with sticky lacing.
Nose of tropical fruit and citrus with some dank.
Taste has tropical fruit, citrus, maybe a bit of berries with a grapefruit pith, slightly dank pine finish.
Mouthfeel is quite full with medium carbonation.
Overall, a fine DIPA from White River Jct., VT and worth the search.
Cheers!

Undated can purchased 8/16/22 at the brewery.
L: Pours a hazy deep orange with a short creamy head that quickly dissipates. Beautifully patterned lacing.
S: Muted aromas of mango, peach, and tangerine.
T: Follows nose up front, then pleasantly merges into a more general tropical/citrus medley. Finishes with some nice dry bitterness, but not too much.
F: Medium mouthfeel. Slightly less than medium carbonation.
O: A tasty citrus/tropical combo with no heat.

Undated 16oz can to pint glass. Appearance looks very reminiscent of tangerine flesh, and the smell follows suit. The taste reveals more bitterness than I expected up front (yes, I’m aware it’s a DIPA), but it didn’t linger which was a bit surprising. Excellent head retention, and left some nice lacing on my glass as well. The feel and body of this brew is my favorite aspect, but I’m not sure the World Class score given here is warranted. However, it is very good and marks my initial experience from River Roost. Thank you TJ for gifting me this jawn from your recent excursion to Vermont.

On tap at Blackback Pub in Waterbury, VT.
This one pours a hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like apricot, peach, berry, grapefruit, and piney hops.
This has a wonderfully sticky sweet hop character. There's just a hint of malt, but nothing overwhelming. The citrusy and candy-like hop character just sits on top of the beer, heavy but delicious, with stone fruit, grapefruit, honey, berry, and a light hit of piney bitterness.
This is medium bodied, creamy, and sweet, with a pretty good drinkability.
This definitely drinks like it's a 8% DIPA, and it's pretty no nonsense. I really enjoyed it.
