On tap at Blackback Pub in Waterbury, VT.
This one pours a dark-ish and hazy orange, with a fluffy head, and a good bit of lacing.
This smells super, super citrusy- a fresh squeezed juice bomb at that.
I don't always love Mosaic hops, but this is a really good use of them- it's got a great honeyed hop character- sweet, but not overly so- with blueberry flesh, grapefruit, tons of mango, and a panoply of other citrusy goodness. There's really no malt character, and a very nice soft taste to it.
There's just a slight hint of bitterness on the finish, with a nice soft and creamy mouthfeel to it. This is really drinkable- as there's no hint of the fact it's a DIPA and it's 8.2%.
River Roost is definitely a fun brewery. It seems like they only make IPAs for the most part, but they seem to make them very well.
