Poured from a growler filled at the brewery into a tumbler glass.
Pours a near pitch black color with a finger of tan head. The head is gone instantly, leaving zero lacing as it settles into a thin film.
The aroma is very roasty and full of dark malts, coffee, and chocolate. There's some faint caramel and toffee on the back end.
The taste follows the nose: Dark roasted malts, chocolate, and coffee. There's a fair amount of caramel and lactose on the finish.
The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Very smooth and creamy. The alcohol is non-existent.
Overall, a good porter that's very roasted and flavorful with plenty of balance. Could easily be mistaken for a milk stout, which it basically is. Would drink again.
