From a 32oz growler, filled at the brewery about this time yesterday. Served in a tulip.
Pours a totally opaque honey-lemon-yellow with about a finger-and-a-half of snowy white, soft and sudsy head. Retention is OK leaving bubbly islets and a thin curtain of lacing.
A fairly subdued nose of citrus, white pear and spicy funk.
Taste is sweet and spicy with good bitterness. Lemon juice, pear, white grape skins, white pepper and ginger. Starts off juicy and sweet but finishes earthy and dry with tacky lime and spice at the ending.
Feel is crisp and clean, medium-thin bodied with fine, prickly carbonation.
Overall, not my favourite River Roost brew to date. Still an excellent beer, mind you, with great bitterness, and no real technical flaws to point to other than that maybe the base beer just doesn't seem to have the heft to stand up to the aromatic intensity of all those hops? More likely personal preference so, anyways, YRMV.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
