From a 32oz growler, filled at the brewery 03/10/18. Served in a River Roost-branded spiegelau-style IPA glass.
Pours a thoroughly hazy, opaque apricot-gold with two-plus fingers of soft, bubbly lather. Retention is excellent and leaves a fat collar and a thick, sticky webbery of lacing. Yum.
Nose is bready and musky with melon, berry and sweaty girl.
Taste is doughy and bready with overripe cantaloupe, composty tangerine, apricot and papaya. Huh, citra wouldn't have been either my first or second guess here but I guess I can see it. Juicy, funky and dank.
I've been rebelling against the descriptor 'juicy' but sure as hell juicy is what this beer is. Juicy, medium-hefty bodied and well carbonated. Goes down like, well, juice.
Overall, another excellent NEDIPA from River Roost. What with the overripe, composty fruit character this one initially presents as being just a little heavy on the palate but otherwise finishes so fast and clean that, instead of being a problem, it gives me a little 'wow, oh, fuck' moment between each sip. It was inconceivable to me that this was 8.2% abv until I went to get up off the sofa.
