From a 32oz growler, filled at the brewery 11/15/18. Served in a tulip.
Pours a heavily hazed, cheerful sunshiney-orange with a finger-plus of soft, soapy suds. Retention is just better than OK, leaving a silky collar and a thin curtain of lacing.
Medium-robust nose, lightly sweet, fruity and flowery. Pear, lemon flower, berries and vanilla sugar cookie. An instant addition to my list of best-smelling beers of all time.
Taste does follow the nose, pear, lemon, berry and vanilla birthday cake. Initially flowery and lightly sweet with exceedingly low bitterness, some white pepper and grapefruit juice develop on toward the finish. At the very end, there is a teensy-tiny aftertaste of something-like-petroleum which, while it doesn't hugely detract from the enjoyment, still makes me a little sad.
Feel is smooth and lightly juicy, medium bodied with bright carbonation.
Overall, another tasty NEIPA from River Roost. Aromatic as all get-out, I could have just stuck my nose in the glass and taken a nap. A minor flaw noted in the aftertaste but otherwise a worthy beverage.
